Way back when, which was Saturday, February 27th, I highlighted some of my favorite smells. As promised I've decided to move onto my favorite sounds.
A few of my favorite sounds:
:: lawnmowers and weed wackers
:: outdoor water: pools, swim meets, waves crashing on the shore, sprinklers, babbling brooks
:: baseball games
:: basketball games: in particular the sound of the sneakers (who says "sneakers" anymore?) squeaking on the hardwood floor
:: the swing of a golf club, the sound of the ball flying through the air, and the sound of the ball rolling into the hole. (please note I did not mention the sound C makes when he shanks the ball.)
:: a bunch of men singing hymns (from my convention paging days) and other people who can sing well (i.e. C and his family)
:: here's a new one: the vuvuzelas: I honestly find them quite soothing.
:: the sound of sirens going (and stopping) right down our street.

The sound of a bunch of men singing - That takes me back to my convention "greeter" days when C and I took the train over to StL VERY EARLY every morning when he was a page. That's when he became the famous convention page (because the microphone or the video or something kept screwing up). Anyhoo ... I agree. All those guys singing sounded SO AMAZING!! The last time I enjoyed that sound was at Concordia Seminary in Ft. Wayne at the Reformation Service when I was there visiting J and E. Heaven is going to be awesome!!!
