Weekend Rewind: O - H

Happy Spring!! I had a dream Saturday night that the pool was opened.  Not quite, but we are getting close!

It's been a busy week at the Elsea household.  One of us pulled an all-nighter working and the other fell asleep to SportsCenter. I'll let you guess who did what.  Actually, I'll just tell you.

Friday night I went to my parents' house to watch the Buckeyes run over some team from Texas. UTSA maybe? I also went through some of my college things that have been in the basement since I came home from college.  We also organized some of C's things, but more on that tomorrow.  Trust me, it'll be a doozy. Emily and I made a Wal-Mart run (we are SO exciting!!) and picked up some ice cream before finishing up our organizing.

I then returned home to watch some basketball and the uber poor programming that is DC Cupcakes.  I cannot express how horrible this show is.  Yet I can't stop watching. It's like a train wreck that you can't turn away from (or maybe, for me, flooding that I can't turn away from). You should check it out.  Then let me know if you are able to stop watching. If so, please let me know how you do it.

I stayed up till 1:00 thinking that C would be coming home from work soon.  I decided to call it a night and went to bed in the office (our bedroom is currently out of commission due to a massive cleaning we haven't had time to finish) on the air mattress while watching SportsCenter.  It was just like when I would fall asleep in the basement watching SportsCenter when I was in high school.  I'm sure C was out with friends those nights.  My friend was SportsCenter.

C made it home at 5:30 on Saturday morning.  So's the life of a lawyer.  I got up at 9:30, went to Donut World for some chocolate cream filled donuts,  pulled up and realized they don't take credit cards, and waved off the girl who was coming to the drive-thru window.  I never have cash, but I really wanted these donuts.  So I went to Chase to get some moolah then back to Donut World.  Fortunately there was a new girl in the drive-thru window so I wasn't embarrassed from having to wave the first girl off when I read the "cash or check only" sign the first time through.

Once home I devoured my donuts - I think they were made Friday morning :-( -, did some laundry, and watched some basketball.  C woke up around 1:30. I didn't even go wake him up.  How nice was I? But I was going to get him up by 2:00, I had stuff to do!!

Once C was semi-awake (he never really fully woke up Saturday) we went to Pickerington to check out a used furniture store and a Vera Bradley sale.  Sadly (for me) they didn't have the purse that I was looking for.  We also went to visit Charlie and Stacey and their new baby, Autumn.  Talk about a cutie.

After our visit we went to Easton.  We hadn't been there in an entire month!  We had dinner at BD's and walked around enjoying the warm weather.  I am so glad Spring is here!!

I can't remember what we did when we got home.  I probably watched basketball while C took a bath (seems to be the trend now that he has given up tv). We did eat some yummy cheesecake that we picked up (and waited 30+ minutes in the line for) at the Cheesecake Factory.

I was thrilled to find out Friday night that Lady Gaga revealed her "beauty" secrets. I'm glad we all know how she manages to look "beautiful" day in and day out.

AND my dad won not one, but two of @darrenrovell's headline contests for the Butler and Marquette upsets.

This probably means nothing to you if you aren't on twitter.

Sunday morning we skipped Sunday school.  I figured C needed to catch up on his sleep from the day before.  I got out of bed at roughly 9:30.  At 9:40 the calendar alert went off on my phone reminding me that we were greeters at 10:00.  That was the quickest we have ever gotten ready and to church.

After church and lunch at Scrambler Marie's (not McDonalds, shocker, right?) we took our weekly Sunday afternoon naps.  I then headed back to my parents' to watch the Buckeyes game with my dad.  What a game! I was thinking we'd have a close game and maybe even lose.  Apparently that wasn't even an option for Ohio State.  If you haven't yet I suggest to watch SportsCenter's recap or you can read about it here or here or here.

And to top off the win, (5th year) senior Eddie Days got in and scored his first career point as a Buckeye.  If you know his story, it was an awesome thing to witness.

So now UK plays Ohio State this coming weekend.  In case you didn't know C is a UK fan.  And, um, I am an Ohio State fan.  I've made it clear that should he chose to go against his alumni and wife's team I'll  be watching the game at my parents' again.  We'll see what he decides.

In other news, I've decided that my blog would be a good teaching tool for high school English teachers.  So if you are a high school English teacher, feel free to print my posts and have your kids edit the grammar and spelling errors.
