one wedding and no funerals

My weekend rewinding isn't quite done (but will be by the end of this post). I didn't want to leave out Amber's wedding so I thought I'd share some pictures with you.

We drove back from Cleveland Saturday morning.  We got back just in time to get ready for Amber's wedding that afternoon.

I hadn't been in this church before, and it was absolutely gorgeous.

After the wedding, while the bride and groom or "bridge room" as I like to call him (anyone get that reference?) were trollying around town, we stopped at my parents so that Emily could fix her dress, I could eat some M&Ms and C could rest.

The reception was at the Country Club with hors d'Ĺ“uvres served outside.  Before Saturday we hadn't had the privilege of attending a reception at the Country Club and were quite pleased by the set up.

We landed a table in the main room (score!) and enjoyed getting to know Cheryl's BFF and former maid of honor. With Amber's table decorations the room was absolutely gorgeous.

I'm sure it was quite tempting for my mom not to grab a lemon from the centerpiece and slice it for her iced tea.

Then there was the cutting of the cake.

And tossing of the bouquet.

And dancing.

Lots of dancing.

But we did not dance.

Not even to a slow song.

Because I was set on getting a piece of that cake.

For the record, I judge a wedding by the cake that is served. If the cake isn't good, the reception doesn't rate high. Amber's cake was delish.

All the while, Hank patiently waited under the table.

In a tux.

And then, about to collapse from a whirlwind weekend (and some lingering head congestion) we headed home.

To top off the entire weekend, after we got home I spotted some police action across the street.

I believe we were thisclose to witnessing a DUI being issued to a guy on a bike.

I was bummed when they let him walk the bike home.
