Weekend Rewind

We had a nice quiet weekend here in Ohio.  Quiet, that is if you forget about the little thing called Cardinals Postseason baseball.

Friday evening we picked up some wings (perfect sports event meal for a guy) and corn dog nuggets (perfect sports events meal for a gal who is still 5 at heart) and settled in to watch the Cardinals.

Loved how they labeled my food.

Saturday morning C headed to work so I headed out to spend the money he was making. I kid. A little bit.  I needed to pick up some bridal shower invitations (ended up going to three different stores to find the best because, hey, I had 4 hours to kill) and also needed to get some Essie fingernail polish I saw on the Vera Bradley blog. Hello Trophy Wife.

C returned from work and we watched the Buckeyes cruise over (on land, not in the air, due to wind) Illinois.  Then we headed to Pickerington for dinner at Unos and reading at Barnes and Noble. On our way out of town we passed not one, but two DeLoreans. There must have been a convention on West Fair Ave.

After church on Sunday we went to Waffle House (finally!) and I tried to be productive while C worked.  I did get a load of laundry folded, the kitchen cleaned, and FUN da-Middles made. It was super lovely out so we took a brief walk and then ate a yummy homemade dinner of spoon roast, carrots, and mashed potatoes.

It was a rather late evening last night thanks to the Home Run Derby that took place in the first 3 innings of the Cardinals/Brewers Game.  Add the celebrations, trophy presentation, and C basking in the glow of his boys making it to the World Series and you don't get to bed until 1:00.

Now we've got a new week ahead of us and a new series.  Wish us luck.
