I love unproductive weekends. I love them to death. And that's just what we had this weekend.
The most exciting event happened Friday morning when I tried to open the front door and my key broke off into the lock. It was awesome. So I called the landlord, went to my parents to pick up our spare set of keys (which the landlord doesn't know we have), and spent the next hour and a half with a nice locksmith from Slaters. That evening C and I watched the Carrier Classic on ESPN followed by the Ohio State Buckeyes season opener. (But maybe it was a pre-season tournament? I don't know).
Saturday morning we ran the rounds to get a mocha (for C) and chocolate cream filled powdered donuts (for me!). We watched some of the Ohio State football game as well as the Penn State game (out of curiosity). Later in the afternoon we took a long walk around town. I should also mention that we returned three cds and checked out two books (if only to add some length to the post).
We had Roosters for dinner (cheese and bacon fries - yum!) and watched something that I cannot remember in the evening. I believe I also got hooked on Storage Wars. It is now a regularly scheduled "to record" program in my DVR. Oh yeah, and we watched a show on the ID channel about women who murdered their husbands.
After church Sunday we spent some time at my parents. We had brunch which consisted of a recipe from the beach. C then watched the Browns while I helped mom with some odds and ends.
After returning home, and napping, we iChatted with the Olsons in Minnesota (we have the cutest nephews) and headed out the door for a brief walk.
At this point in the evening, I thought, "I need to do something productive so that I have something to write in my Weekend Rewind." So I did something productive. But I don't want to give it away, because I'm giving what I made (with C's help) to family at Thanksmas. So you'll just have to wait.
Maybe this wasn't really a weekend worth rewinding. I didn't even taken any pictures. But since I spent the time typing this, it is what it is. I'll try to have my events be more entertaining next weekend.
