I love March Madness. I really do. And I appreciate Charles for realizing that this is one of the most important times of the year for me. If I could get a sound track of a basketball game (without the commentary) I'd listen to it every night when I go to bed. It's just so comforting. So guess what we did this weekend?
Friday evening I went to FCA with mom, dad and Emily to see the Ohio State Alumni Band and Anthony Schlegel speak. The band was awesome. What a way to get pumped up for the Buckeyes' first Big Ten tourney game later that evening. While Anthony was speaking Emily and I helped mom get the silent auction items rounded up and sorted. I even came away with a few items myself (Crew tickets and a gift certificate to Sugardaddy's - It's a BAKERY, people).
After everyone had picked up their items (I don't understand why, in this economy, no one put down $1,000 for a 7 night stay in Nashville...) we headed back to my parents house for some pizza and the Buckeyes game. I don't remember any details other than the fact that they won and Aaron Craft had a bullet pass all the way down the floor.
We slept in Saturday morning (might as well while we can, right?) and settled in for a long day of sports. Chelsea at 10:00 a.m., Kentucky at 1:00 p.m., and Ohio State at 4:15 p.m. All three teams won (couldn't say that about yesterday, though). We did venture out to lunch at La Cascada (formerly Chi-Chi's) which I hadn't been in for at least 10 years, Cord Camera to have them remove the filter which I was certain C jammed in the lens the correct way (turns out he just screwed it in too tight - I was WRONG, but I blame it on the pregnancy - just like everything else that doesn't go exactly my way), and also stopped by WalMart for some curtains for my office and hot dogs and brats for dinner (we are embracing the warm weather folks). We also met my dad and Emily at WalMart to pick up some books that had arrived for me at the house.
The rest of the afternoon was spent watching basketball and reading Don't Put Me In, Coach. Don't get me wrong I thoroughly enjoy the humor, but I am loving the inside look into Buckeyes basketball. We had our brats and hot dogs for dinner and took a pretty long walk once the sun went down. I love walking after dark. You can see into every house that has graciously left the blinds open! Oh yeah, and starting at roughly 4 p.m. C started mentioning, on the hour, that it was really an entire hour later. He was having quite the problem grasping the fact that he was losing an entire hour of sleep.
I woke up not feeling so swell Sunday morning so we skipped church and chilled on the couch (were I spent pretty much the entire day). We did venture out to Speedway for a coke slushy (just what an upset stomach needs) in between the Kentucky and Ohio State losses. After Ohio State lost, but before the selection show, we went on a walk through the west side of town. The weather was absolutely lovely this weekend. Temps in the 60s and it looks like its only supposed to get warmer this week. Don't get me wrong, I'm still a snow girl, but I've come to realize that this year is just not our year for any snow (I think we may have had 4 inches. Total. Over several dustings.). We also iChatted with the Elseas and made a late night (read: 8:15 p.m.) run to Texas Roadhouse because C wanted a salad. I chose to go without because eating a big meal after 8:00 when being pregnant does not appear to agree with me.
