We're going to the zoo today! What's the first thing we're going to see, you ask? The polar bears, because "maybe they'll poop or pee in the water!"
Despite going to the zoo, we're in survival mode over here while C's in trial prep (this thing better actually go to trial.....). With the sun down at dinner time, we're having lots of movies in Mommy's bed after baths.
I've told you three times already, but I'm loving The Bloggess's book Let's Pretend This Never Happened. It's just what I needed after this week and a half (World Series loss, C burning the midnight oil everyday, Tuesday night/Wednesday morning events that are making people thing the world is literally ending - unless it is literally ending, but I don't remember that being a bullet in the "End Times" PowerPoint presentation we used to have in school on a monthly basis).
Side note: How much can you legally put in parenthesis? Can you do sentences within sentences? Do you just use a much of commas and ellipsis? I didn't take that level of writing in college. Or maybe they could've taught me in high school instead of going over "Wars and Rumors of Wars" in the "End Times" PowerPoint for the 23rd time?
On a maybe related note, I'm going to make more of an effort to teach Monkey and GMac (but really just Monkey right now) the importance of helping others. Now is as important time as ever to reach out to those in need or those less fortunate. This is what I'm choosing away from this last week.
So we went and packed Operation Christmas Child boxes Wednesday. Which she was totally in to and I totally thought she got the concept of until she ask my mom when she'd be receiving her box. She's also been learning about Charity Newsies as mom is making a quilt for their big auction. Monkey is also wondering when she's getting her big box of food.
Looks like it's back to the drawing board for us...
